Our New Addition

Baby Compton Arriving August 2018

We are beyond thrilled to be growing our little family!

I thought it would be fun to fill you in on when I found out that I was pregnant and how I told Parker & B!

It was the start of the Christmas weekend so I really wanted a glass of wine but I had been feeling kinda nauseous that day so I figured I better take a test before I poured that wine. Sure enough there was a faint little red line! I was was SO excited but also like “is this real?”. So i took another and same results! The next day Parker was home and so there I am in the bathroom sneaking pregnancy tests. I am pretty sure that I took twice as many tests this time than I did with Bennan.

I had ordered a RAD DAD T-Shirt, RAD BIG BRO T-Shirt and BORN RAD onesie months ago in hopes of getting pregnant soon. The shirts and onesie were ordered through Bayabelle Boutique from Sandilake Company. So cute, go check them out!

I wanted to wait until Christmas to share the big news with the boys. I wrapped the onesie underneath Parker’s RAD DAD T-shirt in a shirt box and wrapped Bennan’s T-shirt separately.

FINALLY Christmas morning arrived (three days after i had found out and kept this a secret). I was beyond excited for them to open their gifts. I waited until the very end of present opening and surprised them with one last gift to open at the same time.

I helped B unwrap his while Parker unwrapped his goodies. I quickly put Bennan’s shirt on him over his adorable Christmas PJ’s. Parker took his shirt out and said “cool, Rad Dad” then held up the onesie with a confused look on his face. He thought to himself “Bennan doesn’t wear onesies anymore”.... I turned Bennan around for Parker to read his shirt.

The excitement set it! We are adding another Compton to the group!

HOLY SHIT!!!!! Is this real life?!

We are all crazy excited! Even Bennan seems to kinda understand that he will be getting a new baby to play with. When I ask him where the baby is, he lifts up my shirt, points to my belly button and says ”baby”!! It is too cute!

When I was about ten weeks pregnant, Parker and I decided to do some extra genetics testing just to make sure that we were screening at the highest level possible. It is definitely not cheap but let me tell you, it is so worth it. If you would like more information go to Natera. The test we did is called noninvasive prenatal screening test (NIPT) that reveals your baby’s risk for genetic disorders as early as nine weeks. Panorama analyzes baby's (placental) DNA through a simple blood draw from the mother’s arm. It took about ten days to get our results back. Thank the Lord our sweet baby girl is healthy. This is also how we found out her gender so early. I am so grateful to have been able to do this testing along with all of the standard California testing as well.

I am looking forward to sharing more about my pregnancy with you all! This is such a fun and exciting time in our life and I am truly grateful for this opportunity to grow our sweet family!
